- Open text field 1: Art Nouveau ring Diamond Ruby 14 carat
This beautiful antique ring dates from the period of Art Nouveau around 1900/1905.
Art Nouveau is an art movement that developed in Europe in the late 1890s and reached its peak in the 1910s.
The term "Jugendstil" comes from the German word "Jugend", meaning "youth", and refers to the desire of this movement
to create a new and modern style that differed from the traditional styles of the past.
Art Nouveau is characterized by organic and flowing forms inspired by nature and the human form.
It also emphasized craftsmanship and artistic expression, with artists often using intricate and detailed ornamentation
to adorn their works. 'Strict Art Nouveau' is a term that is sometimes used to describe those Art Nouveau works
that have a greater emphasis on geometry and the clear, straight linestraight lines. In contrast to the organic and flowing forms
which can be found in many Art Nouveau works, the strict Art Nouveau style often geometric patterns and symmetry were often used,
to create a precise and balanced design. The antique ring presented here is more in keeping with the austere Art Nouveau style.
It is crafted in 14 carat yellow gold and the ring shank is designed with a slight curve.
The ring head is set with a larger pinkand faceted Ruby and
a larger old-cut diamond surrounded by small, delicate diamond roses.
The faceted ruby was cut to give it a shape with many facets and a certain size and, of course, to emphasize the beauty of the stone
