KAMEEN RING
- Order number: r1265
- Open text field 1: Gold cameo ring around 1880
Goddesses of antiquity were popular motifs for 19th century gem cutters.
Carved out of a shell by master craftsmen, we see a classic female head in side profile, which has been sculpturally carved out.
The ladies' hair has been painstakingly carved out by hand.
The simple setting flatters the cameo and allows the classic lady's head to appear in all its glory.
The rare antique cameo ring is crafted in 9-karat yellow gold.
The cameo is beautifully preserved and radiates timeless elegance.
The ring shoulders open on both sides of the cameo, reminiscent of opening buds.
A wonderful piece of jewelry from the period around 1860 from England.
