Only very few people today have mastered the difficult technique of enamel painting.

Enamel painting originally began with the so-called "Geneva enamels", which were already export hits in the 1820s.

The very popular and elaborate art of enamel painting spread throughout Europe.

This beautifully detailed pendant was created in France around 1880/90. 

It depicts a small, industrious putto playing with rose petals on a cobalt blue background.

The setting of the very finely enameled pendant is framed by a filigree openwork silver wire mesh with floral rose decoration.

This antique pendant is of the highest quality and dates from around 1870/80.

The pendant and chain are gold-plated. The pendant is in wonderful condition.
