These extravagant Art Déco earrings date from the first half of the 20th century. They are made of Bakelite.
Bakelite is a plastic that was very popular in the first half of the 20th century. In contrast to today's plastics, it does not have any annoying seams.
Due to its low weight, Bakelite is ideal for jewelry processing. It has been elaborately carved and is reminiscent of a shell with Art Deco elements.
The shell-like elements are also repeated in the brisures. The hoops are silver gold-plated.
These antique earrings are a rarity with a fantastic patina from the Art Deco era.
