COLOR GAME

The most beautiful opals in the world come from Australia.

Opals were first found in Australia by geologist Johannes in 1841.

However, little attention was paid to these opals as they were not suitable for precious jewelry.

In the 1890s,  commercial mining of precious opals began in Queensland. Around 1905, 1915 and 1930, further opal fields were discovered in Australia.

The opals from Lightning Ridge in particular enjoy a legendary reputation.

"Flashfire effects" is the name given to the ability of some opals to emit lightning-like color reflections and to create new and exciting color images in the gemstone with every new incidence of light.

The beautiful pendant and chain are made of 14-karat yellow gold. 

The pendant is wonderfully preserved and shines with its fire.
