With the development of photography, a completely new possibility also arose in the world of jewelry.
For the first time, it was possible for many people to purchase small portraits of their loved ones as photos and carry them with them at all times in so-called photo medallions.
Just like this photo locket from the Art Deco period in silver from around 1920.
The front features a heart-shaped medallion with an almandine set in the middle.
The back of the enchanting pendant has a smooth design.
This antique medallion is gold-plated and dates from the Art Nouveau period at the turn of the century around 1890/1900.
The matching modern chain is also gold-plated. The antique locket is in good condition.
